Mid-to-Senior Contract Perl Developer
Plus Three ( http://www.plusthree.com ) is a small, profitable start up committed to using and contributing to Open Source and Free Software to deliver better, more robust solutions to our clients. Our systems support fund raising, building activist communities and increasing the communication between our clients and their constituents.
This project is a UI heavy web application with good specifications and prototypes and we're looking for the right person to bring it home. Plus Three requires the candidate to be a United States citizen or resident alien living in or around the Raleigh, NC area.
Required Experience
- 2+ years programming Perl
- 3 - 5 years in a professional environment.
Pay Rate
Based on experience.
Contract Term
6 weeks initial work. But future work is likely, especially if you gel with our team.
Required Skills
- Perl: Excellent knowledge of Perl required, including Object Oriented design and using CPAN modules.
- Apache: Experience with configuration, tuning and use of Apache 1.3 and Apache 2.0
- SQL: Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Linux: Experience developing and deploying on Linux.
Desired Skills
- Subversion (or other SCMs)
- mod_perl: Knowledge of the Apache/mod_perl API.
- HTML::Template, Template::Toolkit (or other templating systems)
- DBI, Class::DBI (or other ORMs)
- Javascript and AJAX (JQuery or other JS libraries)
- CSS and HTML (know when to use divs and when to use tables)
- Communication Skills
- CPAN (know how to go looking when you need to)
