Together Washington
Together Washington Case Study
“Is it possible to find common ground in such polarized times?”
This is the question posed by Together Washington, a new civic nonprofit based in Seattle, Washington, dedicated to bridging the vast ocean between liberals and conservatives through live and virtual discussions, podcasts, and summits. Together Washington aims to build connective tissue in Seattle communities, to provide support, and to “create collaboration and leverage to maximize social, environmental, and economic well-being resulting in systemic change in Washington state.”
Plus Three was tasked with the creation of the Together Washington website. Our particular challenge with this client was to design a website that clearly and effectively establishes Together Washington as a trustworthy entity despite their relative recency on the nonprofit scene. A nonprofit’s credibility begins with its website.

We chose a calming yet authoritative color palette reminiscent of the American flag yet one that did not rely too heavily on any single partisan color. The language was primarily supplied by Together Washington, but we had a hand in revision, and we have continued to supply copy for an intimate, direct email campaign.
Together Washington is known for their bipartisan events. Plus Three had the pleasure of producing a virtual discussion between Tim Gaydos, Together Washington’s President, Christine Gregoire, CEO of Challenge Seattle and former Washington State Governor, and Daniel Jackson Evans, former Washington State Governor and former Washington State Senator. For this discussion, Plus Three handled all production elements, including editing, mixing, graphics, music, and subtitles.
Going forward, we hope to continue to work with Together Washington on their quest to build bridges across divides present in their communities and their cities. As Tim Gaydos says, “We believe [for our communities to flourish] we have to find ways to find common ground around differences.” Plus Three is game to help.
