The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) have embarked on a coordinated campaign to educate Latino communities about the importance of broadband Internet access. This campaign, Cambia tu Futuro (Change Your Tomorrow), is conducted in conjunction with the coalition’s goal to increase broadband Internet access to an additional 33% of Americans.
Plus Three worked with LULAC and NCLR to create CambiaTuFuturo.org, a website that serves as a broadband education and resource center for those Latinos across the country who have not seen the benefit of or who have ignored the movement toward broadband.
With the help of Plus Three, the campaign created both English and Spanish language websites. While the English language site is important for this initiative, the primary target for the campaign has been the Spanish-dominant community that is disengaged from the utility of the Internet.
The effort was launched with a showing of the Cambia Tu Futuro Public Service Announcements (PSAs) during LULAC’s Annual Conference. The PSA’s feature the many benefits of a broadband Internet connection ranging from greater efficiency in schoolwork to a substantial advantage in a job hunt.
